Cardio Phlebotomy Technician
Cardio Phlebotomy Technicians perform electro-cardiograms (EKG) for doctors, and also draw blood, carry out venipuncture procedures, and control infections. Cardio Phlebotomy Technicians must have a high interest in health care, possess an aptitude for anatomy and physiology, and have the skill set to be compassionate and caring with patients. Cardio Phlebotomy Technicians are trained to work in busy doctor’s offices, health care clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
Our program is a combination of the Phlebotomy, EKG, and Medical Terminology classes. Graduates have the knowledge and experience to obtain positions as Cardio Phlebotomist in healthcare facilities. The program includes a total of 240 hours of training, half in content knowledge and simulation and the other half in a clinical externship. Program graduates are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association certification exam.
Requirements: High school diploma/ GED, completed vaccination form, physical within the last 10 months, BCI from the Attorney General’s Office
Annual Median Salary: $52,070 per year / $27.12 per hour
